New Scents

I haven't bought perfume in a long time... speaking of which, I haven't even worn it forever. I figured it was time to go buy some new stuff. Normally I go for the fruity softer scents so I figured I'd switch it up this time.

Armani; Code: I thought the bottle was pretty, and I love the smell of Armani for men, so this one was a winner! Its got sort of a musky scent with some sweet top notes. All I know is it smells so good!

Dolce & Gabbana; The one: Normally this is something I wouldn't ever consider. It smells kind of old ladyish but it has a little modern twist to it! It just smells musky with a baby powderish scent mingled in.

You'll have to forgive me if any of you have these fragrances and think they smell totally different. I'm suffering a big of a stuffy nose and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out what anything smells like. And I don't think its exactly the best thing to be shoving perfume nozzles up your nose!

Anyways.... so happy with my purchases, but I can't wait till I get home this summer and get to go through my own oils and customize a scent for myself! YAY!!

Lotion

Hey Everyone!

I'm back from my mini-vacation! I found this amazing lotion when I was over in Kitimat at Shoppers Drug Mart. Its called Kings & Queens. I think it cost around $8.00, but it was worth every penny!! The scent is Cinnamon Orange, and it basically smells AMAZING! It should be called mood lift in a bottle! It is enriched with a mix of Pomegranate, Blue Lotus and Malachite.

Not only does Pomegranate smells delish, it has tons of other benefits! It carries excellent skin care properties including moisturizing, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In promoting more rapid cell regeneration and rejuvenation, it delivers a powerful anti-aging effect as it helps the skin retain moisture and maintain proper circulation and hydration. It contains a host of powerful antioxidant components, which are responsible brightening or lightening the skin tone.

Blue Lotus... the only information I can seem to find on this, is that the Egyptians used to use it as some sort of high, and it was thought that it enhanced sexual gratification! Haha... I had to laugh and thought you might all get a chuckle out of that... other than that. I have no idea what else it is used for.

Malachite is thought to enhance the activity of glutathione, a tri-peptide considered to be the main cellular antioxidant and to defend the skin cells against oxidative stress – from environmental factors including ozone, UV rays, cigarette smoke etc.. Also interesting is the fact that Copper, the trace element present in Malachite increases the amount of elastin and collagen produced by the fibroblasts (collagen producing connective tissue cells).

Either way.. this lotion has a fresh smell with a spicy little kick to it! It also helps keep the skin nice and soft, and as far as I'm concerned its a must have!

Beauty Supplies... and a little more...

Good Morning Everyone (or afternoon/evening, depending where you are)!

Now I added a traffic counter to my blog and I've noticed that I might just have a few more readers. I figured today would be a good day to tell you a little bit about myself!

I'm a girly(ish) girl stuck in a mans world! I'm a medic out on an oil rig, so I lack any sort of female contact, which is why this blogging thing has been a blessing! I get to act like a girl trying and testing things out, and it just makes life that much brighter! Now I didn't start this blog until (well I forget when I started it) but I didn't have much for supplies out here! I've kind of been testing out things from the fridge (as skincare) and shopping on ebay so that I can fill my pages! Now I work a ridiculous schedule! And I'm stuck out here for weeks at a time. I've been here for 5 weeks now just about. I'm heading on days off tomorrow, so my posts might be a little more sporadic!

Now the reason I felt the need to explain all of that is because I'd love to know what you guys would like to learn about. Have you ever had a question about a product you're afraid to try or a makeup look you'd love to know more about??? Please let me know! I'll make sure I pick up some supplies so that I can give you a demo and do a DIY feature on it! I know that more than just my SIL Natasha reads this blog, and she's the only one who ever leaves comments. Don't be shy! I've been getting a bit discouraged lately because it just feels like nobody is really interested in what I have to say. So please... please make some comments! (yes, you guys have made me resort to begging, and its not flattering.. lol)

Remember the only silly question is the one that isn't asked!

Okay... back to more about me after that little rant! I love the color pink. I'm learning how to golf. I love the feel of new socks! I'm working on building a new wardrobe (mostly that fits properly) because I'm tired of my style rut that I'm in! I've had the same style for basically forever and I'm ready to get out there and try taking some fashion risks! I love makeup and getting all done up (even if I have nowhere to go) and most recently I'm getting into making beauty products! That's right!! One day I'm hoping to open a spa and have my own beauty line! I know exactly what I want it to be! I know I bought a ton of essential oils, and all kinds of other things (which are now stored in my moms basement) so I can do some experimenting this summer! Nothing is better than picking the scents you want and making your own products! It means you know what you're getting, and can customize it to work for your skin!

I'm currently taking my Medical Transcription online, and I have to tell you, I am having a very hard time getting through it! Mostly because I'd rather sit on here and read blog posts, or do something else... I guess I'm a bit of a procrastinator, but I'm slowly trying to fix that.

I happen to be chronically single, I'm not sure why! I can't figure out, because its not like I'm suffering from some sort of "Psycho Buffet Syndrome" or anything... Beats me! The male species is so hard to figure out, and if you have any tips, I'd greatly appreciate them!

The best part about my life is that I have a family that I love, and would do anything for! I wish I was closer (in distance) so that we could spend some more time together, but sometimes life just doesn't work like that. Oh, and I have the most adorable niece ever! Her name is Vyla, and I think she was born to be a princess! I can't wait till she's older so that I can actually play with her!! I'm dead set on being her favorite Auntie (Sorry Katie!) and can't wait for my bro and SIL to start having more. I'm putting my request in for 5 so that they have enough that they want to just give me a couple! *sigh* if only life worked like that!

Anyways... now that I've rambled and rambled, and probably made no sense I should move on to packing! I have so much stuff out here, and I really need to get organized so that I'm not rushing around tomorrow (which I most likely will be)!

Don't forget to leave some feedback! Tell me a bit about yourself if your stuck! It would be nice to know a little bit more about my readers!

Perfume!

I'm heading on days off soon, and I'm in search of the perfect new scent! I have a few favorites and they are:

VIVA LA JUICY by JUICY COUTURE
STILL by JENNIFER LOPEZ
GOLD by GUESS

Oh, and this one that my boss owns, and I have no idea what its called! All I know is that I use it every time I'm in her bathroom!

So I guess what I'm asking is what are your favorite scents of the season?! I'd love to know what you guys are wearing!

Well, I've had quite the haul on ebay in the last couple days. I purchased a new coat for spring, and I'm just in love with it. I got some new leggings as well, because you'll always need them!

My favorite Sister-In-Law (SIL) is a color fanatic, and I figured I'd jump on board, because she always has the cutest clothes! I don't know if I can pull the color thing off, but I'm kind of tired of sticking to the same thing. The only color I won't be doing is orange! I feel like its an absolute sin to love that color! Haha!

Now I found this super cute dress too! I know... I got carried away, but I just had to get it, because I'm going to need something to go with the leggings! I'm infamous for buying stuff that never matches, so I figured this would be a good time to get complete outfits that I could wear together! I think its the cutest thing in the world anyways! Besides, who doesn't need a super cute dress!

The one thing I love about ebay is you can find all kinds of different things that you wouldn't normally be able to find in your hometown (unless your home town is a major city, which obviously mine isn't). Actually truth be told, its about the only excitement in my day sitting out here in the middle of nowhere! I think it keeps me sane!

I think I'm pretty much done shopping for now! I'm still waiting on a couple things, but they aren't that exciting! A couple camisoles so that I can wear them under things, and then a sweater dress kinda thing.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Need your opinion!

This post is for your opinion.... I found these shoes that I think are totally cute! But I want to know what you guys think! I need shoes for a wedding I'm going to in a couple weeks, and I thought these might work... What are your thoughts?

New Shirt

After showing you guys my new clothes yesterday, I just so happened to go back on ebay, and I found a couple of shirts. I just had to share them! I paid a little more than I wanted for the yellow and black one, but I thought it was worth it, and I'm still waiting on the tie died one! I'd love to know what you guys think!

Now I know I shouldn't be shopping (because I have a ton of clothes), but I've lost weight, and my clothes are already starting to feel a little loose, so I figure this is a good way to reward my progress! YAY!

Clothes

So I'm super excited about some new clothes I bought on ebay!

Now I have this dress for a wedding that I'm going to in a couple weeks, and its black. (I can't remember how else it looks because its been so long since I've even looked at it) My mom has sent it up north so that I have something to wear (because I got lazy and never made the dress I was planning on making!). All I know its basically kinda summerish and I figure I'm going to need a little jacket or something to wear with it if it gets cold. I bought this little black/charcoal colored jacket. (I suppose I'll have to see what color it really is when I open the package) Now I think the jacket is going to kind of hit me at a funny spot so I'm hoping my rather large knockers will help pull this jacket up so it looks a little more on the cropped side of things (sorry Brody if you are reading this, by any chance).

I bought this grey dress mostly because I wanted the belt that went with it. I think a little cardigan would look cute over it with leggings underneath. With this dress(Tash, I know your going to hate the grey dress, because its got the tube top thingy going on) I figure I can wear it as a shirt and sew some straps on it or something, who knows, the possibilities are endless!

The black dress, I figured it was long enough to wear with leggings or jeans so I had to buy it (plus I wanted the belt) I'm having a belt obsession ATM and much to my amazement today I realized I bought this same silly black dress twice. I guess now I'm going to officially own two of them, on the plus side the belts are both different! lol. Apparently I really, really liked it (well not so much, but it was the belt thing again) I also realized it was kind of thin looking, so maybe I can just wear both of them at the same time... or not!

I'd love to know what you guys think of my finds! So make sure to leave me some comments with ideas of how to wear them!

Jacket: $10.52

Grey Dress w/ Belt: $14.79

Black Dress w/ Belt: $8.39 x2

Total cost was $54 something including shipping, so I think for 4 tops and 3 belts, you can call me a bargain shopper extraordinaire, or at least I think I am!!

New Hair Style

Now I'm going to get my hair done next week, and I have no idea what to do with it! I know I'm trying to grow it out, but its just at that awkward stage where I just want to cut it. I'm going to change the color, and I have no idea what to do, I've heard both, go blonder, and go back to dark. So what do you guys think? What are your favorite colors for the upcoming months?

Melt & Pour Soap

Today I was feeling a little crafty, and I figured it would be a good day for soap! Now I know I cheated using the melt and pour method, but its all I have out here!

First step was to melt the melt & pour (I used Avocado and Cucumber Glycerin, from Michael's) I added some coconut oil
(just because I love the smell of it) and melted it in a double boiler (bowl placed on top of a pot of boiling water)Next I added some Vanilla Pure Essential oil with a dropper, I used about half a dropper full because I love the smell of Vanilla and I don't think you could ever go with too much!

I stirred that in and then added some yellow dye. I figured it would just give it a softer color rather than white, and then I threw in just over a Tbsp. of blueberry seeds (for exfoliation) I poured it into the molds, and then placed it in the refrigerator (because it hardens quicker and I'm impatient!!)

Once the soap had hardened (about 25 mins) I took them out of the molds, and then wrapped them up in some wax paper and gave them away! I hope everyone loves them as much as I do!

This was probably the easiest thing I've ever done, and now I know exactly whats going into my soap (well almost) But at least I got to customize it to what I wanted! I can't wait till I get some lye and the rest of my soap making supplies I ordered, because I think I could make some pretty fantastic stuff!

Moisturizer

Lately I've been using this coconut oil and sweet almond oil mixture on my face. I know it probably isn't a good idea, and it might clog my pores, but it feels sooo good! I put it on and my face is instantly softer, and it is perfect for putting makeup on over top because it just makes it glide on. No more pancake makeup, it seems like the minimum foundation does the trick and gives me super a super even skin tone! I can't remember how I mixed it, but I almost need more! I guess its back to the test kitchen! (after I go on days off and get some more supplies!)

I was kinda wondering what sort of products that you guys are into for a moisturizer. Would you rather buy something that someone made themselves that's more natural or would you rather just go to the drugstore and buy something from there?

Makeup

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around, we've had some issues with the internet out here lately! Today's topic is Makeup application! I figured I'd do half of my face, and then show you how I achieved it on the other side, and to so you the difference between a well made up face, and a makeup-free face!

First you need to start out with a good foundation. I use a combination of liquid and powder foundation. I mix the both together to create the right color for my face (I have mostly summer makeup out here, and I'm whiter than white) I think CoverGirl has the greatest foundation for going on smoothly, and I use an organic makeup I paid an arm and a leg for in Las Vegas this fall. Its Piurre Effect. I mixed 130 Beige (CG) and #4 Creme Caramel (PE).

Next I added my blush. I use Piurre Effect (more Vegas Makeup) I don't brush it right on the apples of my cheeks, I usually brush it up higher, I find it gives my face a longer leaner look. I use #4 in Terra Cotta. I love this makeup because it goes on flawlessly. I might have been a little pricey, but it was well worth it! Now the key to a good blush (or bronzer) application is a good makeup brush! I got mine in Vegas (surprise, surprise). It is Bobby Brown, the "queen", of makeup! Now I paid about $60 US for this brush, and it was worth every penny! I can't wait to go back and get some different brushes!

I always brush some color into my eyebrows just to make them more even and not look like two charlie brown christmas trees (well just the limbs) on my forehead. I use an old mascara brush (cleaned off of course) and Rimmel Color Rus Mono Eye Shadow #33 Dusk.

Next its the fantastic eyelashes. I happen to like the look of tarantula eyes! I don't know why, its like the more mascara I can get on the happier I am! I know my mom hates this, but she thinks that I should just go natural! The best way to get those look at me lashes is to use an eyelash curler! Now if you leave this lying around be prepared for your significant other (if you have one) or any other male species to look at this contraption from ever angle and try and figure out what it actually does I usually squeeze the curler shut a few times in different places on the eyelashes just so I get the perfect curl (and because one of my eye lashes curls better than the eyelashes on the other eye) Apply Mascara. Oh, and on a little rant... I used to use this mascara, and it was CoverGirl something... They don't make it anymore (drives me nuts when they do that), but It was the greatest ever! I use Maybelline Great Big Lash Mascara (it was on sale) for the first coat. I let it dry, add another coat, let dry, re-curl, then I add Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express (I actually really like this mascara) and I usually do a couple coats of that, and then off to CoverGirl lashblast. Then After all the coats dry (usually half an hour later) I re-curl.

Next Eyeshadow! It would be so much easier to do eyeshadow with makeup brushes, but silly me forgot them at home, so I have to rely on the innaccuracy of my sausage fingers.
I suppose that will teach me for procastinating when it comes to packing! I use a Shadow by Piurre Effect #310 It has no color name, but its the prettiest color ever. Its a rose and sparkly color, and it just makes my blue eyes pop!
Unfortunatly I'm using it as a base color for that extra little shimmer! On top of that I add Annabelle #25 Oak. Its a loose powder eyeshadow as well, and I've had it forever (tisk tisk I know) I brushed that over top, then lined my eyes with Black eyeliner. I'm using Bonnebell Eye Definer in Black Ink. I'm not 100% sold on this liner, but it works for the interm!

I guess last but not least is lips to tie everything together. I use foundation on my lips as a base, then apply Revlon ColorStay Mineral Lipglaze #525 in Continuous Pink, and then top it off with Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush in Bubble it Up for that extra sheen! Make sure you brush your teeth so you have your perly whites at their finest!

Now the one thing that pulls the whole thing together is a smile! Make sure you're having a good time doing whatever it is your doing, and people will be sure to notice you!

Now the best way to compare is do a before and after! I forgot to do one with no makeup on, so you'll have to use your imagination!

I can't get this silly thing to spellcheck, so I appologize ahead of time for any random words that appear through here!
